Johannisbeeren is German for good candy

Well, Johannisbeeren is actually German for Red Currant. I shouldn’t be surprised that these are good, because Gummi Bears hail from Germany.

These are sour Red Currant chewy candies, and they are a new favorite! The bag is written entirely in German, so I don’t have any real specifics, but here’s what I can tell you:

They are about dime-sized, and are covered in a fine granulated sugar. Sweet, and tart at the same time, they are delicious, and I’ll be looking for them again.

You can find them at World Market and online.
